I realised that I haven't been posting on this blog for a long while yet... But occasionally I'll still chart down my important updates...

1) ORD Loh!!

22nd Jan 2010. It's coming!!!

2) What next?

The point above ain't exactly the best of events, considering after that I'll have like 6 months to rot before uni starts. So WHAT NEXT? Job? Go NEET? Or perhaps a combination of both, while working on a personal project.

3) University

Oh well, getting the double degree in Mat Sci and Engin & Business Admin was the easy part. The hard part comes in actually doing the course. Well, I'll just put my trust in God yet again, and that He will direct my footsteps.

4) Car

I've been hankering for one, yet nobody, but nobody, seems to be listening just yet. I'm not looking at some grand Porsche. I just need a second hand one to tinker around with so I can get the hang of how to "Zhng" a car.

5) 21st B'day

Now that's something to think about...

Considering that I haven't posted anything here for a long while, this is gonna be a great list of updates coming in from the last post to date...

1) Posted to Tengah Ammo Depot...But it will be closing down soon...*sob*

I've enjoyed my time in this place so far, considering all the events that have occured at my workplace. Anyone would be hard pressed to find another workplace so...interesting as my depot.

2) On my way to driving a car!

That's great, although I'm not gonna be doing those crazy boosts to the car like some other folks till I settle down with a car that I've decided I'm gonna be keeping for a long long while...

3) NDP helpout this year!

The new insights I've gotten while working on the fireworks committee have been most enlightening. No doubt we all suffer from the abundant provenance of hard labour, knowing that we are working for a great display really puts some heart into the work effort, asides from all the strange freebees that come with the NDP helpout... :P

4) The Mastermind

While doing some psychological profiles for myself and my camp mates, I've found that my profile closely matches that of the "Mastermind"... Not that I'm complaining or anything...but it just seems a little overboard somehow... Nevermind, we'll just Keep Moving Forward.

The Road Ahead

My next posting comes on 21st March...the day of reckoning...where will I go? And where to after NS is over? Questions, questions...They fill the mind with discord and fear... A path I have paved, but will this path be one I like, or one I fear?

I think this song truly captures the spirit of NS, rather than the 7 core values that the SAF has. Still think it would be better for us to sing this song before water parade rather than recite the 7 core values of the SAF, but hey, that's just a thought.

So to speak, that's where i'm based now... POC on 11th March, looking forward to that day. Can't say much about this now, cos i'm still bound by some official secrets act, and i don't really know what's allowed and what's not...

Hoping i get a good slack unit after this...then can get a regular 9-5 job, with an unfortunately low pay for that job...cos the govt is just giving u back part of the income tax ur parents pay...

5 more days to NS...hmm...this is gonna be strange...giving service to a country in order to be able to start the process that ensures that i can continue to earn a living in the country. well, no one ever said that there was ever such a thing as free lunch in this world...

BUT...2 Whole Years!! Oh well, looking on the bright side at least it'll still give me some time to brush up on my office politics. perhaps army politics are different from everyday office ones, but, we'll see...

3) Still left with nothing to do after my A Levels. Still Facebooking, TW-ing, DOTA-ing, MSN-ing,...

I think i'm real bored. it's like a whole new experience, being suddenly aware that there's actually no need to study anymore if you don't wanna go uni after this. so i shall just enjoy my freedom for the next few days, while waiting to enter a prison camp for the next 2 years of my life. and in the meantime, i'll go back to Facebooking, TW-ing, DOTA-ing, MSN-ing,...

Chess and Bridge JTS

The Chess and Bridge Club had our Junior Treat Senior(JTS) on 3rd July 2007. Venue: Marche @ Vivocity. Reminder to self: never go there again. Food's good, but price is like ouch. eat a bit only suddenly become like 20 bucks already, then still got 7% GST and (dunno how many)%service charge.

After eating, we took a photo, then some of us went home, some went to play pool, and some i think went to watch a movie. Just found out that i can shoot using one hand on the pool cue. haha.

Thursday, 14th June, 7.30pm: 4.4 Ezra class reunion dinner at Sakae Sushi Restaurant, OUB centre, next to Raffles Place Interchange. Highly successful dinner, considering that most of us could hardly stand up after. Then we took a photo in the hallway, before wandering out of the building somewhere near 10pm, cos the place was closing. Sat down on the grass verges outside and talked for very long, catching up on recent events before heading on home near 11pm.
Ivan, if you are reading this, please remember to send me the photo ASAP!

Friday, 15th June, 10am: NS medical checkup at CMPB. wasted 5 hours of my life there being looked over from all angles. Yes, I really mean ALL angles. Even those that one does not usually display to the general public. Glad it's over though. got myself a PES C, L-Code 9. Just came to the realisation that PES means "Physical Endurance Status". Hope i'll be demoted to PES E when they next review my health status. Then only need to go for 5 days of BMT! *Praying*

Monday, 18th June, 9am: School Chemistry mock test. Then stayed in library to study with friends until somewhere near 4pm. My FIRST real day of studying for the entire June holidays. Ain't it great?! I think i should really try to settle down and do some proper studying for once in my 12 years of education.

Lessons Learnt

I've learnt a few lessons today.

1: For Math Probability Questions, if you know how to do them, you will definitely be at an edge over other people, because these are those kind of questions you either get full marks or nothing at all.

2: Never underestimate your teachers, when they say that problems can be done, it's more likely that the problem cannot be done by you or your peers, even if it's not challenging. (Refer to math complex numbers group assignment as an example)

3: For problems pertaining to Permutations and Combinations, don't think too hard. You'll wear yourself out. Just input the first thing that comes to your mind. Chances are you'll be correct. Thinking harder only makes you more confused. And, you're more likely to get it wrong then if you had not wasted so much brain power before.

4: For Physics, a double electromagnetic induction is just a figment of your imagination. It's not possible. Those who really think that problems can come out to be so horrible should relax.

All this I've learnt from just spending 6 hours in school, discussing maths and attending a physics lesson.

Nothing to do, nothing to say. So what am I posting for? Sigh...

Sabbaticals coming up in week 10. What should I join? There's so many to choose from. I would welcome any suggestions. You could put them on my tag-board if you want to.

I've finally been labelled as a mugger by my class. Why, I don't exactly know. Perhaps it's stereotyping against people without sports. Who says I don't play sports. Just not on the field, that's all...I play all kinds of sports on the computer. :) I believe there's a mugger deep down in each of us, just that some choose to show it more often than others. Come to exam time, then see who mugs more...I believe in doing constant revision, then exam come not so much stress. No need to mug so much also, can take a break now and then. Ignore the others' comments, that's what i shall do. Muhahaha...I shall become a "Dao"-ist. Get it????

Well, about my O Level Results, i got 8 points. 4, if you take away the bonus for my Higher Chinese and my CCA Grade.

Happy? Definitely not! Although it was an improvement from my unmoderated Prelim score(9)[moderated:6], i still not happy. Why? Despite the fact that i got 4A1s(English, E&A Maths and Physics), 4A2s(Chemistry, Biology, Geography Core and Combined Humanities) and 1C6(Higher Chinese), i am quite disappointed with myself.

However, considering i did not study at all for this set of examinations, i did quite well. I shall only bring myself to dedicate all that i have achieved thus far to the Grace of God.

I shall continue to fight on, however, in whichever JC i am posted to(hopefully NJC). For, in accordance with the ACS(I) Motto:"Fight Heart and Soul, The Best Is Yet To Be!!"

The title of the post is self-explanatory. All the why questions will start to present themselves here. However, if i listed all of them down, i would still be typing this time tomorrow. In short, i shall summarize everything i have to say in this sentence:"Why is Life like this????"

Everything seems to be going wrong this past week. However, i shall not expound my energy on anyone. I shall learn to trust in the Lord, because He has a perfect plan for each and every one of us. It comes from some book and chapter in the Bible, i'm not sure. I'm not a zealot like some people are. This is the best i can manage, with my limited lexicon.

End Of CNY

Today marks the end of the red-packet collection exercises period. The days before were fun, not to mention money-filled. We can look forward to this again next year, the year of the pig. I'm watching [Zodiac...The Race Begins] today. (Ironic eh?)

Being sick certainly put a slight gloom over the festivities, but luckily God blessed me with a speedy recovery. (I got a high fever).

On a good note, however, i managed to secure myself a grand total of S$800 for the red-packets, and an extra S$300 in gambling. (more than last year. Yay!) I'm lucky and blessed, that's all i can say for myself.

Chinese New Year's Eve

It's rare that I get the time to post like this so many times in a week, due to the demanding nature of my line of work. However, this may mean that i'm becoming more efficient, to look at it from an industrial perspective. *Smiles*

Now, what to say? This is CNY's Eve, of course. I've just had my new clothes washed out of the laundry by my maid. (I never knew i had so many branded clothes). Also, I would like to express the yearly agony of deciding what to wear tommorrow, the day after tommorrow[:)], and all that on this post, unfortunately still coming short of terms to use to describe my feelings. The only bright side of this time frame is that i will be able to go gambling with my relatives. (hope i win more than last year, only S$200 that time) Oh well, i'm off to reunion dinner with my family. I would again like to wish all readers of this Blog a blessed and happy CNY. God Bless!

CNY Celebrations @ NJC

Today was fun. Firstly, we could dress casual to school. At school, they had this exchanging of oranges "exercise". During assembly, we all go around changing oranges with other people. Some people exchange until they get their own oranges back. (LoL) Everything was very chaotic, until suddenly the student at the podium shout:"Maktub!". Then everybody have to just drop whatever they holding at the point in time.

I went back to ACS(I) to crash in on the party with Jon Lim, Timothy and Jing Ying. Then we went to Nan Hua(Jing Ying's secondary school) for a while. All in all a fun day. To all who are reading my blog, Happy CNY!!

The New TimeTable

As the title would imply, i got a personal timetable today. Only one comment i have to make about this timetable: Messy!! The periods are ok enough, but I have to run all over the school just to get to classes. Even the same classes on different days can have different venues. Now i'm starting to like lectures. At least you know they can only be in one of the 5 lecture theatres.

these past four weeks have been the most sian weeks i have ever had in my life. Not that the school is helping much. To pen down my thoughts about this week should be easy to do, not that there is much to write anyway...

I wish more people would join Library. There is just enough people in there to form an Exco. For now. Not like library is a lousy CCA, always shelve books and nothing else. The library does so much more than that. If only people would see the light of truth.

The New Year;A New Beginning...

A bit long since i posted here since starting up the blog. all my old posts are gone. Forever. I believe that each year should be started off on a clean slate. Literally.

Got myself posted to NJC. For all who don't know, it's National Junior College. Still trying to adapt to the new surroundings(with no air-con, i might add). Coming from Anglo-Chinese School (Independent), everywhere is air-conditioned except the corridors.

My subject combination is Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Economics at H2 level and General Paper and Project Work at H1 level. Kindly tag on the tag board your subject combination for me please, so i can compare. Thanks. Oh, and please give your real name on the tag board, not some fantasy name i can't make out.
